Woohoo! You’ve Booked Your Session! 🎉
Congratulations—you’re officially on your way to capturing stunning dating profile photos! Now that you’re ready to crush it, let’s talk about how you can prepare for the session to make the most of your photography investment.
Don’t worry if you’ve never had professional photos taken before; I’m here to help you every step of the way! By the end of the session, you’ll feel like a pro. Trust me, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is once we get started. 😎
1. Fill Out the Questionnaire
Please take a few moments to fill out the questionnaire before your session. This helps me get to know you better, so I can provide a personalized experience that’ll make your photos shine!
2. Hair Tips
If you're thinking about getting a haircut, I recommend doing so at least a few days before your session. Fresh cuts often need a little time to settle, so give your hair some time to adjust. If your hair is long, consider booking a blowout at the salon—it'll give you a polished look and make you feel even more confident!
3. Outfit Prep & Inspiration
If you're in need of some outfit inspiration, feel free to check out my Pinterest boards for styling ideas. For men's outfit inspiration, click HERE.
I recommend the following for your portrait session attire:
- Neutral colors are always a safe bet: grey, black, white, blue, or tan all photograph beautifully. A pop of color can also be fun and add some vibrancy to your photos! Depending on your style, bold patterns can work too—just avoid patterns smaller than a dime, as they can create weird visual effects with a digital camera.
- Shoes: Close-toed shoes photograph well, and I recommend avoiding graphic tees with logos and running shoes.
- For variety, consider bringing varying outfit options: think ‘date night’ or business casual look, and another for a more casual/everyday vibe. If you're thinking about a extra outfits, you can include something that complements an activity you enjoy, but this is totally optional.
- Choose outfits that flatter the parts of you that you love most and make you feel confident. Confidence is key—when you feel good in what you're wearing, your photos will show it!
4. Arrive Early
I schedule client sessions back-to-back, so to ensure you get the most out of your time, please aim to arrive at the location at least 5 minutes early. If you’re running late due to travel delays, just shoot me a quick text on the day of your session.
5. Explore My Portfolio
Take 10 minutes to browse through my portfolio before your session. This will help you visualize the vibe and style of your shoot. Plus, you’ll get a feel for the kinds of poses and settings that resonate with you. The more you know what to expect, the more comfortable you’ll feel!
6. Take a Deep Breath
You’re going to crush this! 🙌 I always say the best clients to photograph are the ones who’ve never modeled professionally before. It’s totally normal to feel a little nervous, but the clients who are most nervous are often the ones who end up with the best shots! I’ve worked with people of all body types and personalities, and I create images that my clients love every time. You got this!
Additional Tips:
- Be yourself: The best photos happen when you're relaxed and having fun! Don’t stress about looking "perfect"—just be you.
- Hydrate: Drink plenty of water the day before and day of the session so you look fresh and vibrant.
I am SO looking forward to our time together!!! If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up!
Now let’s get you some killer portraits! 📸
